Your brain. It’s remarkable. It has direct connections to almost every disease and condition—from pain, insomnia and depression to menopause, epilepsy and Alzheimer’s.
BWH is one of few medical centers worldwide that’s up to the challenge that these broad and varied conditions present. We have more than a thousand physicians, scientists, nurses and other professionals throughout the hospital with deep expertise in all of the specialty areas relevant to understanding and treating nervous system disorders.
That’s the essence of the Program for Interdisciplinary Neuroscience.
The Program for Interdisciplinary Neuroscience is a hospital-wide effort to mobilize and support this renowned community of brain experts. Our singular aim is to reduce suffering and help our patients who struggle each day with conditions of the brain, mind or nervous system. By doing so in a coordinated and collaborative fashion, this immensely talented community is taking on the most complex neurological challenges of our time.
We’re all fired up. We’re engaging brain and mind experts, across BWH, to join forces and advance a series of strategic initiatives—from early stage and clinical neuroscience research, to patient care, and to training our next generation of brain experts. Everything we do reflects our dedication and sense of urgency to improve the lives of patients and their families who walk through our doors.
